These two cards represent what’s left of my kit, a few gems and embellies mounted on white embossed card stock.

Clique Kits August Pep Rally

Clique Kits is having the Pep Rally Today!

9457536_orig-3

The challenge:  Anything goes!

I’m using beautiful papers and embellies from August’s Kit: Ambrosia and I made cards cut to an adorable size of 3.5 by 5.5 inches. I don’t know what it is about that size that makes a card enter into “cute status.”

Pineapple Hello Card_JustTyra Aug2015

Paradise Greeting Card_JustTyra Aug2015

The Ambrosia kit is full of delightful images of fruit and island like colors! I promise you that each and every time I took out this kit, I needed to go get fruit to eat or something to drink because it actually looks delicious (no kidding).  Anyway, thank you for humoring me for a bit! On to the next!

Creating a Focal Point

*Originally Published on Craftwell’s Blog*

Hey Crafty friends! It’s me, Tyra and I’m here to share how I used the beautiful dies from Teresa Collins’ A Girl’s Best Friend set to create a focal point.

A focal point is simply the center of activity or focus in a design that you would like to draw the eye to.   In each of my projects I used one die and a contrasting color or pattern to create a design with a single focal point.  Let’s see what I created!

1. In this first card I used the single gemstone die in a contrasting color against a backdrop of neutrals to create a focal point.

2. For my second card I used the beautiful star plate die on a navy starry patterned paper to create a focal point against the pastel colored elements in the card.

3.  For my last project, I created a shadow box featuring the beautiful bow die in a pretty pink pattern that contrasts well with the gray and white neutral background.

These three projects are examples of how you can use just one single die and contrasting color to create a striking design!  I hope I have inspired you today! Take care and thanks so much for stopping by the blog! Tyra 🙂

Designing with Chickaniddy: Good Times

*This post originally published on Chickaniddy’s Blog*

Hi Friends! I’m back with a few cards I created with Spring on my mind using the beautifully colored Twirly Girly collection along with a little bit of Date Night sprinkled in! First, my supply list:

Good Times Card Process Photo Chickaniddy Tyra Babington
Supply list:  Twirly Girly -A Girl’s Generation/TG14OS09, Keepsakes/TG14OS04, This and That/TG14OS07,  Enamel Hearts/TG14EB07. Date Night – Plaid is Rad/DN14OS12, Backwoods Lovin/DN14OS10.

Here is the first card I created:

Happy Girls Card Chickaniddy Tyra Babington

I created this card by layering shades of pink and peach, adding a touch of green peeking from behind the sentiment panel. This card is inspired by the lovely Mercedes Calla lily plant.

My second card is all about outdoor parties which often begin in Spring. Banners and  strung lights are both signs of a good time to be had by all!

Good Times Card 2Chickaniddy Tyra Babington

Tip: Take a closer look and notice that both cards start with a 4.25 x 5.5 panel, followed by two 3 x 4 inch panels and a few embellishments.  All of Chickaniddy’s collections feature at least one 12 x 12 sheet of paper full of 3 x 4 designs – great for easy card making!

I hope I have inspired you to not only create something beautiful, but to also get outside and enjoy all of the colors of the season! xo, Tyra.

Designing with Craftwell and Bella Boulevard

Hello It’s Tyra and I’m back to share a few clean and simple cards featuring Bella Blvd’s Color Chaos collection!

Hello Card Bella Blvd Craftwell Tyra Babington

I embossed 80 lb card stock with the Love Triangles folder from Craftwell’s Teresa Collin’s collection.  The embossing folder sandwich I used was D + A + embossing folder and paper + A.

Bella Blvd’s Journaling stickers and enamel dots along with a little snip of patterned paper finished off my clean and simple look!

Finally here is a full reveal of the cards I created!

Clique Kits Blog Share Featuring Carnival!

Hello It’s Tyra and today I’m finally sharing some of what I made with the Clique Kits  May 2015 Kit, Carnival!

9457536_orig

The challenge:  Anything goes. Create whatever your heart desires and share!

I absolutely loved working with the May kit and I can say that it’s nearly gone!

JustTyra_Clique_Kits_May2015Kit_Smile_Card

The kraft cardstock and alpha letters featured in this month’s kit really inspired me to use more of what was once my favorite color.  Kraft simply goes with everything. I’m in love with kraft again!

JustTyra_Clique_Kits_May2015Kit_Altenew_Hello_Card_edited-1

Amy Tangerine’s Rise and Shine patterned paper needed nothing else but a sentiment.  So I used AlteNew’s Super Script set, featured in the Clique Cards Spring Edition.  Speaking of the Spring card kit, I created cards from that lovely kit as well:
