Just Be Yourself

Today I’m playing along with the latest CASE Study Challenge.  Check out the beautiful inspiration photo:

There is so much inspiration from this photo, however, the red and turquoise/teal (?) is what caught my eye and inspired me to create this simple one layer card:

I love, love the clear and white sequins — a great way of embellishing a card, without taking away from the main design.  Thanks so much and stopping by and I hope you enjoy your weekend! xo- Tyra

Love

Happy World Cardmaking Day! I’m celebrating simply by doing what I love, marking cards! Today I’m playing along with the latest Runway Inspired Challenge:

Tanya Taylor Spring 2014

I love how the black and white is on the left and the color is on the right, with a slight offset in the lines.  That flow  and offset of color is what caught my eye and inspired me to create the following card:

god_is_love_card

The sentiment is simply stated and I thought a pattern of hearts flowing from plain black to color matched the feel of this sentiment perfectly.  Thanks so much for stopping by! xo- Tyra

Joyful Spirit

Hello!

Today, I’m playing along with the latest CAS(E) This Sketch:

CTS_Sketch_45

What a beautiful sketch! So, this is what I created:

Joyful_Spirit_Card

I used Memento Luxe Inks  in Pear Tart and Gray Flannel and I have to say the color is as rich as advertised.  The leaf stamp is from Memory box which I simply turned upside down and shifted to create the leaf patterns at the top and bottom of the card.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.   The wood bird is Recollections (Michael’s) embellishment I colored with a Copic.

I’m trying to step into using more colored card stock.  For this card I used colored card stock as a base, but next time I promise color card stock will take center stage :).  Thanks so much for stopping by! xo- Tyra

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday!  Today I’m sharing a few fun ways you can get creative with stamps over at the Sweet Stamp Shop.  Please stop by!

Also check out some of the cards I created for the September Release.  Quick tip: don’t forget to stamp your envelopes with a little stamp to complement your card as a nice finishing touch.  I created the envelopes above to match the September Release cards.  Take care and thanks for stopping by! xo- Tyra

Looking Forward to Fall

This is my second post today where I am playing along with the Runway Inspired Challenge:

LelaRose_007_1366.450x675

This time around I took note of the size of each pattern as well as the color to create the following card:

I_Love_Fall_Card

The feather die is from Silhouette and the sentiment is Lawn Fawn.  A happy accident occurred when I painted the small heart with a yellow wink of stella brush and noticed the yellow was too bright.  I colored over the heart again with an alcohol ink marker and the heart continued to sparkle.

Well, that’s all for today. Thanks so much for so stopping by! xo-Tyra

Simple Color

Today I’m playing along with the latest Runway Inspired Challenge, a beautiful color combo of yellow, gray, black and white.

Where do you even start? The patterned background, the yellow blouse, or those pants? Well in this first version (yes, there is a second version…wait for it..) I kept the color palette very simple and minimal:

Black and white with a pop of yellow.  The sentiment is from the Sweet Stamp Shop (Oh, did you hear my exciting news?).  The cute feather is a die from the Silhouette.  And yes, I’m back to using sequins again.  I can’t help it.  Thanks so much for stopping by! xo- Tyra

A Little Celebration

Hi! I’m back with a card to celebrate joining the Sweet Stamp Shop Design Team.  I am also playing along with one of my favorite challenges, CAS(E) this Sketch:

CTS_Sketch_43

What caught my eye about this sketch are the clean and simple circles and rectangles.  I used StazOn to stamp the mason jar from Sweet Stamp Shop‘s Afternoon Delight Set onto Grafix Craft Plastic.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I used wood embellishments colored with Copics (alcohol inks work very well on most surfaces)  to “fill” the jar with love, placing the wood embellishments in front of and behind the mason jar.  The patterned paper is from Echo Park:

And here is a close up, because I love the layering with craft plastic:

While practicing stamping on clear plastic with StazOn, I created a bunch of little mason jars.  The leftovers will be put to get use as date or milestone markers in my Project Life album and other crafty projects (you will see that cute mason jar again!).  If you have been following the last several posts of mine, you might have noticed that I’ve been using sequins like crazy, so I decided to step away from the sequins for a bit and accent with candy/enamel dots.

So this is me, celebrating!  I’m so glad to be back on the blog! Thanks so much for stopping by! Your comments always bring a smile to my face. xo-Tyra

Hello…

Today, I’m delighted to play along with the Sketchbook Saturday Challenge from the oh so very talented Iwona Palamountain:

With this card:

circle_hello

A literal take on the original.  I used various markers to color the hello sentiment as well as the panel mounted behind the rows of circles.  I love this color as it reminds me of tropical water.  Thank you so much for stopping by! xo- Tyra

Triangles, Part 2

I wanted to submit this stamped Triangle card to the Moxie Fab World Trendy Triangles Challenge:

Love those colors! This is what I created:

And you know what else I love? Those sequins from Studio Calico! The ink is Tsukineko and Hero Arts.  Thanks so much for stopping by! xo- Tyra 🙂
