Hello It’s Tyra and today I’m finally sharing some of what I made with that Clique Kits  Kit Haul I shared. Warning, A LOT of pictures. I just got into a little creative groove, so here it is. And there are more paperclips. Last, I am supposed to share a few of my favorite things. Well time with my personal circus act, a.k.a. my kids and of course card making.  So I will let the pictures speak for themselves. 9457536_orig   Honor_Society_Blog_Share_JustTyra_Hi_and_Hello_Card Honor_Society_Blog_Share_JustTyra_Adored Honor_Society_Blog_Share_JustTyra_tag Honor_Society_Blog_Share_JustTyra_Lucky     Honor_Society_Blog_Share_JustTyra_Today_Layout Thanks so much for stopping by! Love: Wood embellishments, foam stamps, acrylic paint and anything in brush script.

I promise to be back with a few projects from this haul.  That’s all for now.  Take care and thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello My Name Is…Moxie Fab Photo Pocket Page Challenge

Today I’m playing along with Moxie Fab World’s Photo Pocket Page Challenge which calls for creating a paper crafted project featuring a journaling card. Fortunately, I was struck with inspiration from one of my favorite songs when I created this card:

Hello_My_Name_Is_Just_Tyra

This song “Hello My Name Is” has different meaning for different people. For me is a a song that truly touches my heart!

The sentiment taped onto the card is my handwriting plus a fun typewriter font.  I created a .png of it and printed it onto vellum.  I layered with a little strip of paper from the latest Simon Says Stamp (July 2014) card kit and more vellum.  I added some twine I found in the Target dollar bin , a tiny paperclip and I was done.   This is a wonderful card for encouragement.  That’s all for now!  Take care, have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Polka Thank you

Hi! Sorry I’ve been gone for a while but with a new season comes a little change in my routine.  I have added keeping up with a vegetable garden to my daily to do list and I love the work that goes into it, but goodness I am tired! Anyway, I did find time to play along with the latest CASE Study:

I absolutely love Pamela Ho’s card! Well, here is my take:

I would have loved better light, but I’ll take what I can get.  I used a little embossing paste and tried to paint some of the little dots with shimmery acrylic paint.  I topped the card off with a sentiment embossed onto vellum.  That’s all for now.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Kit Haul! Clique Kits

Hi it’s Tyra and I’m here to share something a little different today.  I often enjoy seeing “kit haul” posts.  I think it reminds me of a time when I was little girl and my little girl friend and I would share what was inside our purses.  This is sort of the adult equivalent of that.  I thought I would share a recent haul from Clique Kits:

A little close up:

Colorful and lovely, huh?  I’m wanting to create more layouts and so I thought that this kit might give me the jumpstart I’m looking for.  And of course I’ll create a few cards 🙂

Well that’s all for now.  Take care and thanks so much for stopping by!

Watercolor Play

Hello! I’m back with a little water color play as I play along with Clique Kits Summer School, a summer long event.  Our first challenge involved using watercolor.  Here goes:

JustTyra_Watercolor_Fun

I used the super fab Pelikan Opaque paint kit. Take a peek a the kit in my Two for Tuesday Feature.  I’ll probably use the “Hopes & Dreams” panel for a card.  The sweet little balloons are from the Sweet Stamp Shop.   I used a copic brush marker to write the sentiment on the small tag (Yes I was listening to the song by the same name when I created this tag).  The “hi” is from an old set of white letter stickers.   These projects are not in their finished stage, but really wanted to share what I have created.  That’s all I have for now.  Take care and thanks for stopping by! xo, Tyra

Summer Manifesto

Lately I have really wanted to play along with page layouts and I found the perfect inspiration playing along with Studio Calico’s Sunday Sketch:     Summer_Manifesto_JustTyra_marked     The “Summer” die cut is my handwriting. I like how I was able to add that personal touch.  I painted the die cut with several different watercolors to mimic the colors of this beautiful season. Summer_Manifesto_UpClose_JustTyra I think the hardest (and almost impossible) task from my manifesto will be to find a place to take a nap outside.  I don’t have a hammock, I don’t have any vacation plans finalized and I have three tiny tots who are little human magnets. And the mosquitos here are treacherous! I think creating this layout has inspired me to continue to create more layouts and get more photos onto pages. And journal more.  I’m reminded of this article which serves as motivation.  Wish me luck! And consider making your own manifesto as a reminder to slow down and enjoy every single moment. Take care! xo, Tyra

Cards To Inspire…The Four Ls of Card Making

So, I wanted to share with you  some of the back story behind why I created this little class called the “Four Ls of Card Making Design.”

I created this course because there was a time I felt uninspired and not confident about what I was creating, but I kept creating.  I found that over time, the card designs I loved were ones that were born from heartfelt inspiration.  From my scribbles and notes, a class was born:

Four Ls Class Collage

So, if you find yourself in a creative rut, I encourage you to give this class a try.  This class is not about replicating anything I have designed or sketched out, but really more about using whatever inspires you and turning that inspiration into great card design.  More details can be found over at on my site CraftSwag.  Take care and thanks so much for stopping by! xo, Tyra

Humpday Hero to the rescue: Crayons

Hi! I’m back to share a little experimentation I did with good old fashioned crayons. Using a simple and inexpensive medium like crayons allows you to experiment with color (before playing with more expensive mediums):

Brilliant_Crayon_Card_2

This card is the result of a mistake I made when I colored the card stock with crayons then die cut it…backwards.  Little did I know that this mistake would produce a cool, “backlit” effect! See the subtle hints of pink and blue?   My photo doesn’t do this card justice, but I encourage you to try this technique  if want to add a wisp of color to an otherwise super clean and simple card.

Brilliant_and_Strong_Crayon_Card

Again, I created another card to demonstrate how crayons play nicely with die cuts.

That’s all I have for now. Explore more fun facts about Crayola crayons here.  Take care and thank you for stopping by my blog! xo, Tyra
