30 Days of Lists #2

tb_30days_2

Projects I’m working on. Ha! after reviewing this journaling card again, I realized I didn’t complete the card. Most likely because I could fill up the entire stack of journaling cards on the topic of “things to do.”

30 Days of Lists #1

List_1

I’m participating in 30 Days of Lists and wanted to share what I’m listing.   One of the highlights from List #1 include attending the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) Winter Convention in Anaheim, California this year, representing my work-in-progress CraftSwag!  I learned so much about the craft industry, met many people behind the different brands and made new friends.  I definitely plan on attending next January (Let me know if you are making plans to attend, I would love to say hi!).

Back to 30 Days of  Lists.

Journaling is a great way to get a mental reflection of where you are and who you are right now.  In the 30 Days of Lists community there is a kinship formed with others who share similar experiences, thoughts and/or ideas.

The Album:

I created this quick & easy mini album with just a few tools.  The journaling prompts are quick & easy.  Quick + Easy = My recipe for success!  The Challenge just started so there is still time to join.   Take care and thanks for stopping by! xo-Tyra

A Little Celebration

Hi! I’m back with a card to celebrate joining the Sweet Stamp Shop Design Team.  I am also playing along with one of my favorite challenges, CAS(E) this Sketch:

CTS_Sketch_43

What caught my eye about this sketch are the clean and simple circles and rectangles.  I used StazOn to stamp the mason jar from Sweet Stamp Shop‘s Afternoon Delight Set onto Grafix Craft Plastic.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I used wood embellishments colored with Copics (alcohol inks work very well on most surfaces)  to “fill” the jar with love, placing the wood embellishments in front of and behind the mason jar.  The patterned paper is from Echo Park:

And here is a close up, because I love the layering with craft plastic:

While practicing stamping on clear plastic with StazOn, I created a bunch of little mason jars.  The leftovers will be put to get use as date or milestone markers in my Project Life album and other crafty projects (you will see that cute mason jar again!).  If you have been following the last several posts of mine, you might have noticed that I’ve been using sequins like crazy, so I decided to step away from the sequins for a bit and accent with candy/enamel dots.

So this is me, celebrating!  I’m so glad to be back on the blog! Thanks so much for stopping by! Your comments always bring a smile to my face. xo-Tyra

I will be back with a celebratory post this week.  I will also join the Sweet Stamp Shop in celebrating the September release next week.  Come and join the fun!

As always I plan on playing along with some of my favorite challenges, sharing crafty finds over at CraftSwag and getting back into the swing of things.  So, thank you for following me and stopping by.  It means so much to me! xo- Tyra

Hello…

Today, I’m delighted to play along with the Sketchbook Saturday Challenge from the oh so very talented Iwona Palamountain:

With this card:

circle_hello

A literal take on the original.  I used various markers to color the hello sentiment as well as the panel mounted behind the rows of circles.  I love this color as it reminds me of tropical water.  Thank you so much for stopping by! xo- Tyra

Triangles, Part 2

I wanted to submit this stamped Triangle card to the Moxie Fab World Trendy Triangles Challenge:

Love those colors! This is what I created:

And you know what else I love? Those sequins from Studio Calico! The ink is Tsukineko and Hero Arts.  Thanks so much for stopping by! xo- Tyra 🙂

Triangles, Part 1

Today I’m playing along with Moxie Fab World and The Trendy Triangles Challenge.  I didn’t realize how much I loved triangles, until I saw the inspiration images used for this challenge.

RebelAmish_9492

I went off to the land of Pinterest and found a lovely lovely image very similar to the one above in terms of random patterns against a white background.  I was inspired to create the following card:

triangle_shapes_card_edited-1

I resized two triangle shapes into various sizes inside of a square and cut the pattern out onto two different pieces of patterned paper.  I then used the negative cut to guide the assembly of pieces.  I used a sharpie and a spectrum noir marker to create a marbled look on the “thanks” sentiment. It was a bit of work, but I like it.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  xo- Tyra

Floating Sparkly Color

Today I’m playing along with the latest CASE Study challenge, featuring a beautiful card by Jennifer McGuire:

Umm, yeah, the inspiration card is a beauty!

I created this card:

floating_flower_card

When I saw the inspiration card, I saw floating sparkly color.  So, I die cut a flower and placed sequins behind and on top of the flower, creating a floating, effect (I hope).   I love sequins and I could load up this flower with a ton more, however, I think less is more.  I wish you could touch this flower card as I like the texture the die cut and sequins create.  Thanks so much for stopping by! Take care, xo- Tyra

Making a Difference

Today I’m playing along (at the last possible minute — ha!) with the latest Curtain Call Challenge: Watermelon Wonder:

Love those colors! So airy and light.

I created this card:

butterfly_card

The butterfly is from a set of burlap stickers by Little Yellow Bicycle, stamped with distressed ink in ripe persimmon.  I wrapped the die cut flower around the card and accented with sequins and a little feathered ribbon.  The beautiful sentiment is from Flourishes.  Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend! xo- Tyra
