Be Brave

Hello! I’m here to share a fun card I created for Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking’s Galley Idol 2014.  I’m far into watching American Idol (Go Caleb! Go Jena!) so  I thought this was the perfect opportunity to get in on the fun!

Here are one of the cards I created:

Brave Card JustTyra

I used We R Memory Keepers shape n tape washi tape for the gray decorative strips. I also used washi for all the butterflies.  I used my computer and printer to create the sentiment “be brave.”

“Brave,” the song sung by Sara Bareillis and the Disney Movie by the same name served as a source of inspiration.  Whenever I have the opportunity to create just for the sake of creating, I find myself using whatever song, quote or story I’m inspired by at any given moment. I’ll share more about how I channel that inspiration in a special announcement this weekend (smile).

Take care and thanks so much for stopping by!

Love Themed Cards

I found a few inspired moments today to play along with the latest CASE Study:

Well, shut the front door! Super beautiful card by Wida Miller over at the latest CASE Study Challenge.  Everytime I look at this card I see something new! I also decided to play along with the latest Simon Says Stamp “Anything Goes” Challenge.

This is the card I created using a nesting heart die set from my digital die cutter:

And I couldn’t let those nested hearts go to waste, so here is  a another look at this cute patterned paper combo:

A two-for-one-special using the nesting heart die cuts.  I’m undecided on what type of nesting die cuts I prefer: one from the digital die cutter or the die cuts requiring a Big Shot.  What do you prefer?

Take care,  and thanks for stopping by the blog! xo, Tyra

Happy Birthday Confetti Card

Hi, I’m back! I’ve been away traveling for work and for fun.   Also, the weather has improved here (it was 70 degrees yesterday!) and I thought it would be a good idea to get the kids and I out for fresh air!  So, in other words, just living life 🙂

Today I’m playing along with the latest Curtain Call Challenge: Confetti Crush:

Who doesn’t like Confetti? Here is my take on this fun challenge:

When I think of confetti, I think of a crazy, fun time and I tried to express that feeling in this card design.  Do you feel like partying now?

Also, I have another fun fact to share — The “happy” and star cuts will be offered in my very first CraftSwag MiniWorkshop — so consider this a sneak preview! The first Mini-Workshop will share simple techniques on how to jump-start your creative flow.  The CraftSwag Classroom will open May 2014! Keep me in your thoughts as I nervously begin this new adventure!

As always, thanks  so much for stopping by the blog! Take care and have a wonderful weekend!  xo, Tyra

SEI Inspiration Challenge: Flower Power

Happy Thursday! (It’s almost Friday). It’s spring break here in my neck of the woods and the husband and I have split with week spending time with our kiddos while they are out of school.  We started spring break off by attending a wedding near the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan and since that time, things have been pretty low key.  Walks to the park and multiple viewings of Frozen.  As a matter a fact two of my kids are in the same room with me fighting over the DVD jacket.

Well, I’m here to share a sneak peek of the latest SEI Challenge!

SEI_Spring_Flower_Challenge_JustTyra

I loved the paper I used for this project.  The best thing? No watering!  Anyway, I hope you can play along.  There is a $25 gift code to the winner! The kinds folks over at SEI wanted me to mention that this challenge is open to US and Canadian residents.

Thanks for much for stopping by! xo, Tyra

There is a $25 gift code to the winner.

You Are The Best

Happy Monday! Today I’m home with the kids and decided to play along with one of my favorite challenges,  the Runway Inspired Challenge:

Diane_von_Furstenberg_004_1366.450x675

This iconic Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress features a bold pattern with a lot of movement. Love it! Let’s get to the card I created:

Encouragement Cards

I cut out banners and used a variety of border stamps and different inks in colors similar to the dress.  I also added vellum banners and washi banners to help create the illusion of movement.  I added paper string and stapled the banners to bring this card together.  So fun and fast!  Thanks so much for stopping by! xo, Tyra

SEI February Inspiration Challenge

Hi It’s Tyra and I’m hosting the SEI Inspiration Challenge where this month’s inspiration is Rustic Valentine. Here is a sneak:

Flowing Heart

Today I’m playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch, a fun card challenge that I have always enjoyed.  Let’s see the sketch designed by Chrissy:

CTS_Sketch_62

And here is my Valentine’s themed take on the sketch:

JustTyra.com_Flowing_Hearts_Card

I used my trusty Silhouette to cut hearts of various shapes and sizes and colored several of them in fun colors.  My favorite color is the gray marker. I think gray is my favorite go-to color for the moment (especially since I have 5-6 different shades of gray in ink, marker and paint)!  Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by the blog. xo, Tyra 🙂
