What I’m Designing This November

Hi! I wanted to drop in with a sneak peek of what I have been up to:

Design_Projects_NOV2013_JustTyra.com_Sneak

  • Check out my series “Just Add Ink” at The Sweet Stamp Shop where today I create a scene using a little ink and patterned paper.
  • I got a chance to create a scrapbook page using a sketch from PaperHaus.  It was so fun to play on a larger area of paper!
  • Finally, check out my post over on the SEI Blog where I used an everyday item — a grocery bag — as inspiration. There is a linky open to share your own creative inspiration!

I’ve been a little under the weather this week, so I’m looking forward to using the weekend to rest and recharge.  I hope to post the rest of my 30 Days of Lists next week and share more of my creative journey.  Take care and have a wonderful weekend! xo- Tyra 😉

Happy Everything with the Sweet Stamp Shop

Today I have shared a few special occasion cards and an envelope over on the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog! Please check it out.  Before you go, I wanted to share a quick little card I made:

I really do like how pearlescent paper adds a special touch.  Perfect for the holiday season.  I embossed this image of a stack of presents and colored it with Perfect Pearls and a little water.  Sometimes when my white embossing does not come out uniform, I use my white signo pen to touch up the card.  I think this cards needs a little something extra.  In the meantime, that’s all for me. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend. xo- Tyra

Love, Part 2

Here is my third post of the day, and the second entry into the Ready-Made Embellishment Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  I couldn’t stay away from creating another quick card with this cute Bella Blvd paper I found:

I die cut a piece of patterned paper to serve as the background.  I also cut banners from the card stock and stick papers. I topped everything off with the “I love you” sentiment sticker.  I scored the kraft card stock with several lines to add some texture.  I hope you can see it in this photo.  That’s all for me.  Take care! xo- Tyra

Love, Part 1

I’m playing along with the Ready-Made Embellishment Challenge in the Moxie Fab World and I created a card using some fun elements from Bella Blvd:xoxo_card

It was super easy to die cut the paper using my favorite curvy die from Simon Says Stamp and add the ready-made banner. Super CAS and super quick! Thanks so much for stopping by!  Love, Part 2 coming soon! xo- Tyra

Giving Thanks

Happy Monday! Today I am playing along with the Metal, Wood, & Cork Challenge in the Moxie Fab World AND

The latest CASE Study:

I love all of the wood grain! So, using the wood grain as a source of inspiration, I created the following card:

giving_thanks_card

I used a little faux wood grain paper  as a background for the embossed sentiment.  I used a real wood heart, from Studio Calico.  The sentient, and colored card stock and cute sequin are all from the Simon Says Stamp card kit.  Simon Says Stamp also has a curvy die I used to cut the bluish card stock.  I love it! The copper polka dot leaves were die cut from SEI card stock.

That’s all for now. Thanks so much for stopping by! xo- Tyra

A little bit of Awesome

Hi I’m checking in to share with you a little bit of awesome:

First, I was nominated for a Liebster Blog Award by the very talented Mayuri of the blog Candles In The Garden.  Thank you so very much Mayuri!  The Liebster Blog Award rules vary but are usually given to favorite blogs or bloggers with 200 followers or less.  In turn, I can give this award to five other bloggers who inspire me.  There are so many who inspire me, but for now, I will focus on a few.  They are:

So to all of you — you truly rock 🙂

So Awesome

Today, I’m playing along with the Moxie Fab World Challenge: Metal, Wood & Cork. I thought to myself  “metal, wood and cork? what in the world will I create?” I ended up creating a super simple card that I love — from the texture of the paper to the shiny metal clip, the faux cork tape and the wood heart.  This card makes a great masculine card.  I think I’ll save it for the husband:

Just Be Yourself

Today I’m playing along with the latest CASE Study Challenge.  Check out the beautiful inspiration photo:

There is so much inspiration from this photo, however, the red and turquoise/teal (?) is what caught my eye and inspired me to create this simple one layer card:

I love, love the clear and white sequins — a great way of embellishing a card, without taking away from the main design.  Thanks so much and stopping by and I hope you enjoy your weekend! xo- Tyra
