Hi it’s Tyra and I’m here with a very special post! Today I’m sharing a card I created using an exclusive Sweet Stamp Shop set, “Sparkle and Shine,” offered in Clique Kit’s December Kit, Enchanted Meadow.
This set is no longer offered by the Sweet Stamp Shop, so be sure to check out Clique Kit’s December’s Kit. I am lucky to have created projects for both teams and it just so happens I have a extra Sweet Shop stamp set that I would LOVE to give away! Just leave a comment and your contact info and check back on next Tuesday, December 16th, Sweet Stamp Shop’s December Release, where I will share a new card created in celebration of the release and announce the lucky winner!
What a fun day on the blog! Thanks so much for stopping by! xo, Tyra
Happy Hump Day! I’m here with another Planner Basics post where I discuss basic tools for you planner nerds out there 🙂
There has been an explosion of interest in using stamps and planners together and I think it’s awesome. If you are someone new to stamping, you might find yourself overwhelmed with the choices of inks and tools to use. My advice? Keep it simple:
- An acrylic block is a must-have if you plan on using “clear” stamps. The one shown was only $1 dollar at my local craft store. Score!
- Memento Dew Drop Inks are perfect for the busy planner. The compact size and the dew drop shape of these pads allow you get just the right amount of ink onto your stamp. These inks dry fast and will not smudge.
- Use a pencil case to keep all of your tools together.
- Love those stamps? Mine are from the Sweet Stamp Shop “Plan It” series. I’m featuring the following sets today:
Thanks so much for stopping by! xo, Tyra
Hello It’s Tyra and today I’m playing along with the latest CASology challenge where the cue card for this week is: EAT
I’m sharing this sweet and simple card I created using the “Take Out” set from the Sweet Stamp Shop:
And here is the card I created:
Since moving back to the midwest, I’m delighted that I can now enjoy a few (truly Americanized) take out restaurants! My favorites are beef and broccoli, shrimp with veggies and rice, rice rice. And did I mention rice? Speaking of rice, I wonder why I have yet to invest in a rice cooker? There are so many textures, flavors and variety of rice! If anyone has a rice cooker, please leave a comment with your recommendation – please?
Sorry for the rambling, back to the CASology challenge. It’s so nice to play along with card challenges. There’s such a wonderful community cultivated on the various challenge sites. One last thing about CASology – The design team provide tips called “Design Defined.” When I started to take up an interest in card making, these tips proved to be so valuable to me. I love to see the new tips posted with each challenge! This to me is what set this talented team a part from many others!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! xo, Tyra
Updated December 3rd to add:

Hi It’s Tyra and I’m here to share a cute and quick little tutorial to create shaker gift tags featuring Monster Mash and Holiday Town from the Sweet Stamp Shop:
I used a Silhouette File to for a shaker shadow box and simply assembled as shown in the pictorial. Don’t forget your acetate to keep your sparkles inside! I also added a panel to the back with string to convert this shaker into a gift tag! I kicked it up a notch by adding a stamped image — perfect for a spooktacular or holiday gift tag:
Here is my finished result:
Super easy – I promise!

Hey Crafty friends, today I want to share a few ways I use my metal nested dies to make a statement. I’m featuring Sweet Stamp Shop’s Enjoy Calligraphy set — it’s truly a go-to set when you need to create quick and easy cards: The quotes are in so dreamy, I used one of my dies from a “nested” set to crop out a cloud scene:
To make this card:
Super Fast and easy! Drawing off of the inspiration of this quote, I use a metal balloon die to create the same impact in a slightly different way:
Have you noticed a theme here? I used the quote as a source of inspiration for using the cloud paper and the balloon die.
Stop by the Sweet Stamp Blog tomorrow for a two more fun techniques with metal dies that I’m sure will make you dust off your die sets. Take care and thanks for stopping by! xo, Tyra
I’m playing along in the Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop! (Better late than never — right?) A special thanks to Chaitali, at Cuts, Crops and Creativity for hosting such a fabulous event!
Do you see the stars around that cute cup from the Sweet Stamp Shop? That’s how I feel when I have a chance to pick up coffee in the morning! Coffee makes everything okay, doesn’t it? Last, but not least, here a little “coffee trivia” from me:
Q: When did you start drinking coffee?
A: Maybe just over a 1 1/2 years ago! I have a 3-5 cup/week habit! (Including coffee brewed at home)
Q: What is favorite brand (you can name up to three).
A: Well, this is how my coffee habit formed. My husband discovered this special little brand called “Highlander Grog” from a fine little coffee shop here in Indianapolis. I believe there are hints of caramel and hazelnut in this blend. We are always stocked with a bag (or two) of this deliciousness. If I can’t get my hand on this, I will go for the Hazelnut flavored coffee at Panera Bread Co.
Q: What is the most amazing coffee that you had? Remember where and when?
A: See the question above. Seriously! This love started when my husband brought home a freshly brewed cup of this goodness on a Saturday.
Q: If I don’t drink my needed coffee, I will…
A: Shed one sad tear! (smile)
Thanks so much for dropping by! xo, Tyra
As many of you know I design for Sweet Stamp Shop and I’m primarily a card maker, however I wanted to share today my latest haul from Sweet Stamp Shop — The Ahoy Kit from the On Cherry Street Line, a collection of paper goods (and stamps of course) for pocket style memory keeping.
It’s gorgeous, isn’t it? Check back later this weekend for a layout I created using this fun line and my thoughts on why this kit is great for card makers looking to jump back into memory keeping / scrapbooking. Thanks so much for stopping by! xo, Tyra
P.S. The Day To Day kit was just released this week! It’s next on my list 🙂
