Designing with the Sweet Stamp Shop: CAS Plus

Today I created a few cards featured over at the Sweet Stamp Shop as part of my new Series “CAS Plus” where I’m sharing fun CAS-friendly techniques. Click here for more.  In the meantime, check out this card I created using the latest release:

Lots of stamping on patterned paper here along with a fun embellishment to the cute little washing machine.  Would laundry be fun if all we had to clean were glitter?  Well, that’s all for me. Thanks so much for stopping by! xo – Tyra

Guest Designing for Paper Smooches

Whew! I’ve been away for a while, just….busy and yet still a lot to do before the holiday! That being said, I wanted to drop by and share a card being featured over on the Paper Smooches blog today:

We_Totally_Click_JustTyra_for_Paper_Smooches

I love the graphics from the “We Totally Click” stamp set.  I cut up the sentiment so that it could fit on the die cut (Silhouette) banner.  The funky paper is from an American Crafts  6×6 paper pad I (surprisingly) found at Michael’s.  And then there are the sequins. I loved being a Guest Designer over on the Paper Smooches blog and I was very thankful for the opportunity.

I hope to be back with later with some recent listing from 30 Days of Lists and few other fun projects to share.  Take care and thank you for stopping by! xo – Tyra

30 Days of Lists #15-18

Listing has started with 30 Days of Lists and I’m excited!  I’m here to share my #30 Days of Lists, #15-18  from September.  I’ll say it again how I love how #30 Days of Lists provides interesting questions that seem to get to heart who you are: your likes, dislikes, quirks and everything in-between. So, let’s get to it, shall we?

List#15: In My Junk Drawer

  • Kids Projects. And these projects are growing by the day. My kids’ projects are overflowing from the the drawer, our shelves, chairs, you name it.  I need to find a home for this stuff.  The first week’s worth of projects were cute, but everything is coming home at what appears to be an alarming rate!! !
  • Pens, crayons, other writing instruments.  Pens for jotting down notes, reminders and a few stray crayons for coloring time.
  • Wine opener. Yes, this lives here too.  Given the items above, it seems a little appropriate, however our junk drawer is in a prominent location in our small kitchen.
  • Stray napkins from Chipotle, Dunkin Donuts. When we pick up coffee from Dunkin or burrito bowls from Chipotle we always seem to pick up an excessive amount of napkins. (Why?)
  • Random Coupons: Occasionally I’ll save coupons for cleaning products and entry into kiddie indoor play areas and toss them into the drawer.
  • Gluesticks for “gluestick and paper time.” What a creative name for our kid activity time, eh?
  • Stray barettes. My little girlie manages to loose a few barrettes every day and into the drawer they go, until I collect enough to take upstairs to the bathroom.
  • Earbuds for connecting to our phones and heading out to the gym (for me, it’s been pretty scarce as of late!).

I’m listing in my holiday journal. It’s not too late to join the fun!  Click on the link below for more details. My fourth child CraftSwag is a sponsor this year and I have created a freebie for listers!!  I hope to share something this weekend  Thanks so much for stopping by! xo, Tyra

Designing with PaperHaus: December Sketch

In case you haven’t noticed, I have been crafting with a lot of emphasis on the holiday season and I couldn’t wait to design a sketch using the latest PaperHaus Sketch:

I am ALWAYS inspired by music when I create. This layout is inspired by the songs Bring a Torch Jeanette Isabelle and O Holy Night. Head on over to the PaperHaus blog to see what the design team created.  Thanks so much for stopping by! xo, Tyra

30 Days of Lists #11 – 14

List#14: Weekend Essentials

  • Ground Coffee. From here. Their Highlander Grog ground coffee is delicious!
  • Friday night we usually make sure we’ve made the trip to Trader Joe’s to pickup breakfast food for the weekend: eggs, quick hash browns, cinnamon rolls, juice and bacon. And if we really have our act together, special Bacon (with a capital B) from a little slice of heaven called Goose The Market. If you live here, go there!
  • When the weather is nice, a trip to the Farmer’s Market either here or here.
  • Football!! Go Irish.
  • Catching up with my devotions. I love #SheReadsTruth. This place on the web is love and community.
  • Saturday afternoon church here.
  • Talking and texting family and friends to catch up on the latest and greatest! This is usually happening in the car when I’m doing one of the items above.
  • More football.
  • And is the wee hours, of course, creating and crafting 🙂

I hope you had fun taking a trip around my neck of the woods. This is why I love#30 Days of Lists. It is a fun opportunity to gather and revisit random pieces of our lives, present and past. This December I will be listing in my holiday journal.  Thanks so much for stopping by! xo, Tyra

Designing December: Foundation Pages

Hi It’s Tyra and I’m here to share my December journal foundation pages.  First, stop here to see specially what supplies and journaling prompts I’m using and stop here for my recommendations for Designing Your December.

I’m still working on several pages, but I still wanted to share my #25 I created using embossing fluid and gold embossing powder.  I like how it turned out…

JustTyra_Designing_December_Foundation_journal_card_25

At first glance, you might notice that:

  • I used floating numbers which will provide me the flexibility to move numbers around as I add pictures and journaling.
  • I am using a lot of transparencies.  I wanted to keep the inside feeling “light” and airy.  Transparencies helped a ton!
  • I didn’t stick to using christmas themed supplies 100% of the time.  Instead, I  shopped my stash and used supplies that complemented the overall color scheme (if there is one — ha!).
  • This year, I’m using #30 Days of Lists for journaling prompts.  It’s fun, easy and my track record is 100% completion! (I’m sharing my September cards, slowly but surely here).
  • I used my silhouette A LOT. For numbers, some embellishments and tags.  I think this has helped personalize my page.
  • Oh, and I’m missing numbers.  I’m missing the number 5 because it melted in an embossing incident.  I’m missing other numbers, because I need to purchase a few more filler pages.
  • And I can’t believe I created a post of foundation pages.

Check back soon for more foundation pages and more thoughts on what I loved about assembling my December Journal.  Take care and thanks for stopping by! xo- Tyra
